The Caring Mother is situated in Malanshof  with easy access to Cresta, Randpark Ridge, Randburg, Boskruin, Bromhof, Ferndale, North Gate and Fontainebleau.

We are a well established school and offer both full and half day options. Our hours are 6.45am to 5.30pm and 7.00am to 2.00pm respectively or as per special arrangement.

We are a bilingual school with 18 children between the ages of 3 months and 5 years. Our classes are kept small and a lot of individual love, care and attention is given to each child.

We offer a cooked breakfast, a nutritionally balanced cooked lunch and snacks in the morning. Children bring their own little packed snack for the afternoons.

Reports are issued termly for the children from 2 years onwards. The parents of the babies are kept informed on a daily basis of their child’s progress in terms of what he/she did each day and the development and milestones achieved.

We include the Optima perceptual programme in our daily work. This is an excellent learning programme designed by occupational therapists to ensure optimal cognitive, creative, language, social, lateral thinking and confidence development in children. The programme includes a large variety of activities in the 2 dimensional, 3 dimensional and abstract phase.

We work according to a theme syllabus and we include a variety of fun activities such as language development, creative work, music and movement as well as the occasional puppet show or in house educational show around each theme.

Our staff are qualified and extremely dedicated to the love, care and education of each child. They are also trained to perform first aid assistance and are in possession of valid first aid certificates.

The principal has a full diploma in Educare and early childhood development.  The Principal is also qualified in pharmaceuticals.

Our play area is equipped with a jungle gym, sandpit, lawn and a paved area for bicycles. There is a separate play area for the babies.

We remain open throughout the year and offer a fun holiday programme for the older children. Our school is fully registered with all authorities including the Department of Health and SARS and is also a member of the Rand Central Nursery School Association.

Eeny, meeny, miny, moe
Catch a tiger by the toe
If he hollers let him go,
Eeny, meeny, miny, moe

My mother told me
To pick the very best one
And you are [not] it.

Alternate 2nd Verse:

Out goes one
Out goes two
Out goes another one
And that is you.

History.

This is a counting rhyme that has been around in various forms since the 1850s if not earlier. It is believed to be associated with the Celts words for counting. Since there have been counting rhymes before and counting rhymes since, it is most difficult to place exactly where this rhyme originated.

Georgie Porgie, puddin' and pie,
Kissed the girls and made them cry.
When the boys came out to play,
Georgie Porgie ran away.
